As it prepared for its IPO, Gatos Silver was seeking a brand identity, as well as a new website, that would reflect the sophistication of its company and the culture of its location in Mexico.
COHN created a logo and color palette for the brand that stood out from other mining companies.
The subtle nod to the name brought a logo icon that represented the G shape in the form of a cat’s profile. A major showcase for the brand was through the new website, designed with a focus on on-site imagery and filled with content for its investor audience as well as both Spanish and English speaking site visitors. COHN also led the video production and photo shoots to secure the new brand assets used throughout the site and for the Closing Bell video on Wall Street.
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is increasingly important in the mining industry, so Gatos Silver tasked COHN with delivering branded ads highlighting the company’s sustainability philosophy and environmental commitment. In any campaign, COHN seeks to create creative campaigns that stand out in placement and articulate the brand message meaningfully. These two ads, placed in industry trades and investor publications, convey Gatos Silver’s cool, crisp brand identity in a visually stunning layout, while using feline-inspired messaging to get to the heart of its sustainability message.

With its new brand as the backdrop to one of the most important days in the company’s history, Gatos Silver successfully launched its IPO in October 2020.
