Our 2020 COHN New Year’s Resolutions
The end of 2019 was crazy here.
Most of our clients were racing to get work done before the holidays, and several new business opportunities bubbled to the surface in the final week before the break. This was on top of vacation schedules, holiday stress, freezing weather and the general pressure of wrapping up the year. The atmosphere at COHN was all-hands-on-deck, and like we always do, we managed to somehow get all the work done before the break.
I think it was this December flourish—paired with a long holiday break—that sparked a renewed, blazing enthusiasm inside us entering 2020.
All jacked up and drunk on supercharged New Year’s gusto, I started asking around “How are YOU going to get better this year?” and COHNians swiftly offered up their thoughts and ideas for how we might make 2020 our best year yet.
What was fascinating, however, is how similar all our ideas were. Independently, we all instinctively knew where the agency could improve the most.
In short, we want to become more daring and gutsy in our work. We want to be kinder and nurture more personal relationships with our clients and each other. And we want to inspire each other more frequently through collaborative creativity and intentional leadership.
Fearlessness. Relationships. Leadership.
Every single New Year’s Resolution checked one of those three boxes. This is how we will get our swagger back in 2020. Like any New Year’s Resolution, we’re going to need to work on these all year. The fire in our belly will, of course, dim as the year goes on.
But at least now we know what we’re aiming for, and we all seem to be on the same page. We see the opportunity, and we’re all committed to doing whatever it takes to make it happen.
