Asked why reporters were asked to leave, a PR person who declined to identify herself said simply, “This is not the story we want.”
If you invite the public and the media to an event then you should be sure to be a media liaison, not a media blocker. Treating journalists this way will not likely go well for you or your company as they will report on how they were treated which can reflect negatively. I would also caution against saying what you don’t want, instead offer points on the positive aspects of the event that you do want to be covered.
