The House just voted to wipe away the FCC’s landmark Internet privacy protections

Color me conflicted. As a U.S. citizen, the idea that ISPs could sell my browsing habits (including personal and financial information) to marketers without my consent makes me more than just a little concerned. It’s downright upsetting. It’s the type of thing that makes you kick and scream and punch through drywall because voters—not politicians—are going to let this happen. We, the American people, voted for this. On the other hand, as a curious marketer, I’m shamefully intrigued by how all that data would influence campaigns. Imagine the possibilities! If you want to know more, this video (and accompany article) outlines the situation and provides some tips on how to best protect your data.
