“Our Response: Ability” to Help Boost Economic Rebound

June 30, 2020

We’re Volunteering What We Can, In Our Backyard

Over the last several months, we’ve seen incredible displays of community spirit, crowdfunding and togetherness that dominate our news and social feeds.

But there still remains an overwhelming reality, that if not addressed now, may forever change our cities, communities and commerce.

The economy needs our help.

We should know.

While business development is starting to pick up for us, it’s still going to take a long time for COHN to recover economically from this pandemic. Meanwhile, some of our favorite restaurants, boutiques and small businesses are shuttering daily.

That’s why it’s time to put our ability to action and be a partner to businesses in need. We’re rallying the collective talent of local businesses to pay it forward in an initiative we call “Our Response: Ability.”

Our Response: Ability is a community call to arms to roll up our sleeves, volunteer and donate our individual skill sets to vulnerable businesses in our backyard.

Think of it as a volunteering program. What can YOU volunteer to a local business to help them cut expenses? What abilities can you offer that might boost that neighborhood business you love?

Whatever you specialize in can be harnessed to help the economy rebound.

  • Are you an accountant that could help with some business taxes?
  • Are you a landscaper that could help a local business improve its curb appeal?
  • Are you a digital marketing specialist that could help with SEO/SEM?

We believe heroism is contagious, and those on the front line, our first responders, have inspired all of us by carrying the burden of saving lives while risking their own.

Now it’s our turn. It’s our time to respond. And what will our response be? Ability.

It’s not charity. It’s a strategy to keep the lights on and bounce back faster.

By joining this movement, we’re agreeing to put aside business goals. Forgo competitive aims. And do the work necessary before it’s too late. Give or let die.

Check out the Our Response: Ability website, and start brainstorming ways you can volunteer your expertise and ability to your local community.
