Why humans are so bad at thinking about climate change
Climate Change has always been hard for us humans to wrap our heads around—even before our current POTUS tweeted that climate change was a Chinese hoax. So why has climate change been so hard for us as a species to combat and solve? M. Sanjayan, senior scientist at Conservation International, asserts the issue is brand messaging. Like so many other behavior change marketing challenges, Sanjayan says we’ve focused too greatly on “doom & gloom” messaging, which allowed people to tune it out. Fear and guilt give people a reason to withdraw from the issue. There’s a lot to like about this insightful video from Vox, and it’s worth the watch.

Meet the Perennials
My fellow Millennials, it’s time for us to scoot over and make some room for the Perennials. What exactly is a Perennial? Girl Boss, Gina Pell, coined the term to describe individuals (regardless of age) who employ a go-getter attitude and who are constantly changing and evolving into better versions of themselves. Think Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, and Lady Gaga. Instead of focusing on whether or not they fall into a specific age range, this group focuses on behavior. Pretty cool, huh?
