A Fresh Perspective: COHNfessions of an Intern

January 26, 2016

Having recently wrapped up my bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and knowing that “you don’t build websites with LEGOs,” I can say that I have learned more practical skills in two weeks at COHN than I did in four years at school.

Being an intern at COHN is an opportunity anybody would be lucky to have…but being an intern on the digital team is an experience like no other. There is a learning experience around every corner, and because the world of digital is ever changing, I know that there will always be a new skill for me to learn down the road.

The agency is filled with welcoming people, knowledge mavens, and three to five dogs on any typical day. With everyone ready to help, it’s impossible not to learn something new every day.

To make my blog stand out among other “intern experience” blogs, I thought I would try my hand at an acrostic poem to describe what COHN is all about:

Cohn is a great place to develop your skills at any level

Organizing your day is the key to getting all of your work done

Having people to ask for help, and dogs to pet

New and exciting projects always come your way

Make friends with the team

Ask if you don’t know

Risk it for the biscuit

Kind and respectful

Eat whatever is in the kitchen fast

Turn challenges into skills

Ignite your inner COHNian spirit

Never pass up a learning opportunity

Great work takes time

With my career as a poet well on its way, I’ll finish up this post by saying that I’m happy to join the team, and I’m excited to continue to learn and grow at COHN!
