What We Learned This Week – January 15, 2016

Take a peek at what we’ve learned this week.

Super Bowl 50 Complete Ad Chart: Who’s Buying the Commercials in the Big Game
Here’s a sneak peak at commercials slated for Super Bowl 50 on February 7. CBS is raking in a mere $5 million per 30-second spot. Can’t wait to see what creative commercials air this year!

Women Hunt For Heroes Who Aren’t Drunks in Heineken’s Night Ballad
This week, I learned that if more brands belly up to the bar on the notion of drinking in moderation, they can come out a hero.

After Chipotle Outbreaks, Will ‘Food With Integrity’ Still Resonate?
Any time a food company faces an issue with food safety, they’re going to struggle with sales. However, Chipotle isn’t just any food company — it’s a company that has used smart PR tactics for over a decade, touting slogans like “Food With Integrity,” and “Responsibly Raised.” Its customers not only love the food but they also love the brand. Clearly, Chipotle cares about relating to its customers, and with an issue as big as this, I think it will be interesting to see how PR messaging will adapt — or stay the same — as Chipotle tackles their food safety problem.

The Ten Most Popular Web Fonts of 2015 (And Fonts You Should Consider Using Instead)
This week I learned that typography to me is like sports to every other American male. Revising the most popular and best typefaces of 2015 just makes me giddy and happy inside like a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Whole milk.

Why Mobile Advertisers Need a New Play For the Super Bowl
Your BFF’s seven layer dip, (hopefully) a good game and your phone — what more do you need to watch the big game? With ad blocking technology kicking it up a notch, mobile advertising has to get smarter. It all comes back to delivering the right message, at the right time, to the right person.
