Kate McDaniel, senior public relations account advisor, and Brittney Cox, assistant account executive, recently attended a three-day Certified Account Executive College seminar with twenty other account executives from agencies across the country.

The seminar, hosted by Second Wind, was held in Costa Mesa, California from September 22–24, 2009, and reviewed best practices for account executives in small to mid-sized agencies to succeed in today’s ever-changing business climate. Topics addressed included strategic account planning, building strong client relationships, workflow efficiencies, as it relates to information sharing and scheduling, and winning RFPs and new business pitches.

Second Wind (link to http://www.secondwindonline.com/default.asp), founded by the former agency owner and entrepreneur Anthony Mikes, is the largest trainer of advertising agency people in the world. A number of Cohn Marketing employees have relied on Second Wind for continuing education in their respective areas of expertise with in the agency. From seminars to consulting, Second Wind has been a valued resource to Cohn Marketing. Former recipients of the Account Executive College training include Aubryn Thompson and Alejandra Mesta.

Kate and Brittney are continuing the training back in Denver as they work towards the achievement of Certified Agency Account Manager.
